There's No Place Like Memphis Mama: Baby Shower Recap

So in mid July I hostessed a baby shower for my sister in law and brother. ?They are having another baby girl in early October. ?We are so excited to be welcoming baby Leah Marie to our family! ?I wanted to share some of the shower decorations with you b/c it was SO darn cute. ?Of course the day of the shower it RAINED like nobody's business and it was all supposed to be outside so some major last minute adjustments had to be made but no one seemed to mind...except for me of course! ?I was hot to trot let me tell you.

The theme was a color theme...hot pink and orange. ?Very summer and fun!

The cake! ?I got these cake topper letters at Hobby Lobby. ?The pink "dots" are large pearlescent sixlets candies. ?My aunt just bought a white cake and then I decorated it myself:) I was really happy with how it came out!
The covered porch. ?Thanks goodness I have one. ?All this was supposed to be out on the lawn in the backyard.
A little closer shot of the centerpieces. ?I got this cute orange and pink paper at Target to use as runners. ?The only problem was it was so damp outside from the rain that it kept curling up.
The gift table had to be moved in to the screened porch along with the food. ?We got Corky's BBQ. ?What else do you have for a large family Memphis baby shower?

We even decided to surprise my dad at the end of the shower b/c his 70th birthday was that week. He was definitely surprised and I think I saw him curse a little under his breath when he saw me coming haha! He hates birthdays.
Overall we had a great time even with all the rain. ?Finally towards the end it slowed down and the kids got to go run around in the mud in the backyard. ?They could have cared less. ?Food, family and fun...the perfect weekend!
