Famous 'Tamales,' Social Networking, & Business Analytics Added to ...


Event organizers continue to expand and enhance the line-up as anticipation builds for the California Travel Association?s 29th Annual ?California Travel Summit,? to be held June 20-22, 2011 in Pasadena, California.




Themed ?Think, Adapt, Thrive ? Keeping it Relevant,? the summit is expected to attract over 600 travel, tourism and hospitality professionals and state legislative officials from California and neighboring states. Registration is available at www.caltravel.org


New to the Program:

  • The Border Grill Gourmet Food Truck made famous by television personalities ?Too Hot Tamales? Mary Sue Millikan and Susan Feniger will appear on Monday, June 20, offering attendees a complimentary lunch between the pre-con sessions (11:00 a.m. ? 12:15 p.m.) and the opening general session (beginning at 1:15 pm). The vehicle will be outside the Pasadena Convention Center, easily visible and accessible for attendees. During the summit, Millikan and Feniger will be recipients of the 2011 CalTravel Restaurateur of the Year award in recognition of their tremendous contributions in nationally promoting a colorful, fun side of California?s restaurant industry.
  • American Express has just come on board as part of Monday afternoon?s opening general session, providing business insights and methods for using analytics to better know your customers.
  • Pathable, a new social networking software will also be available to attendees prior to and during the summit?to help them connect and network. ?


The 2011 Summit will include a selection of top keynote speakers, expanded learning and education tracks, invaluable networking opportunities, and the new CalTravel Legislative Award, honoring an individual ?who has made significant contributions to the travel and tourism industry.
